Internet Society (ISOC) joined Minerva Network Systems about a year ago. ISOC is the home for two Internet standards bodies ? the Internet Engineering Task Force and the Internet Architecture Board. Currently ISOC is the top candidate for acquiring the .org registry (with more that 2.3 million Internet addresses worldwide) from VeriSign Inc ? and if successful will take over at the end of the year. ISOC competed with 10 other commercial and non-profit groups for this contract.
